Elly's role is focused on the formulation and implementation of AMS Institute's HR goals, such as, the recruitment policy, the organizational design, the R&O cycle, (personal) employee development, the terms of employment and the clarification of HR processes. Of course, she also focuses on the so-called softer aspects, such as employee well-being and the culture of the organization.
Together with Janne Tomberg they form the AMS HR team and they are both involved in filling vacancies, appointing employees and solving individual issues. All this often in coordination with the HR departments at the parent organizations TU Delft and WUR, where many of the AMS employees are employed.
For the past 32 years, until her retirement, Elly was employed as HR manager at TU Delft where she was highly involved in the development of TU-wide HR policies and worked as HR manager at various faculties, lately at Architecture and the Built Environment.
Elly is greatly motivated to remain active 2 days a week in her beloved field of HR in an academic setting of education, research and innovation. She finds it fantastic to work in such an ambitious and energetic organization as AMS Institute, where many nice people work at a wonderful location in the heart of Amsterdam.
“When people feel happy in their work it leads to great results for the entire organization.”
