Hans Roeland’s role in the LIFE ArenAPoort project is to activate local stakeholder engagement, act as an intermediary between stakeholders & innovation partners and facilitate the research & valorization process to create an innovative and inclusive future-proof energy system. The ArenA-Poort as a Living Lab: a great opportunity for experiments that enable, develop and test advanced solutions for urban energy challenges.
Prior to AMS Institute, Hans Roeland worked in many different roles for private and public organizations, from subatomic physics research to general management activities. He is an all-round team player with experience in product innovation, tough-tech startups and pro bono activities focused on progressing the energy transition. In the past two decades he has been involved, and still is, in several activities that aim at bridging the gap between science and business. All with the aspiration to tackle big problems through open innovation.
“Alignment of different stakeholders is always a challenge but also a great opportunity for me to learn new things and gain new insights. I always enjoy to be part of a diverse group of people able to align their focus and strive towards a common goal.”
Hans Roeland Poolman
Project lead of Stakeholder Engagement ArenAPoort LIFE Project
Besides being active as rugby coach, Hans Roeland is also a board member and driving force behind the energy transition project of the national rugby center (NRCA) located in Amsterdam. With his entrepreneurial mindset he can contribute to innovative transitions that add value to new or existing organizations and society in general. He works best in a dynamic and complex environment as part of a driven team with a strong focus on the common goal while aligning different expectations and progress.
