With a background in Urban Strategy, Sustainability and the Built Environment, Rajaa works as a Program Developer for the AMS Academy. Her interest is to contribute to just and sustainable urban transitions by tackling broader strategic urban issues such as public policy, citizen science, land use, energy, and infrastructure.
At AMS Institute, she explores collaborations between businesses, local governments and researchers, using the living lab methodology.
Rajaa has extensive experience in change management and has supported local government officials in over 20 countries to rethink their urban systems in light of the pressing urban challenges.
By closely working with the Amsterdam Municipality, Rajaa’s work aims to disseminate the learnings from current urban living labs to contribute to more informed, just and sustainable decisions locally in the Amsterdam region.
“Real impact starts at the local level. At AMS Academy our goal is to help innovative solutions reach a broader public of policymakers and be implemented in everyday local decision making.”
