As a Program Manager for the Smart Urban Mobility Team, Sander brings innovative projects to fruition in the Urban space. Sander initiates and nurtures these projects from inception to successful implementation. His goal is to facilitate urban change on a European level.
Sander is currently leading the proof-of-concept fund development for the DRO-DMI project and has previously led several EIT Urban Mobility projects such as SmartHubs, Future Digital Mobility Management as well as Cityflows. These projects range from developing multi-modal transport hubs to managing crowds within cities. In addition, he is interested in smart infrastructure and digital solutions to mobility challenges.
Before joining AMS Institute Sander worked on technical challenges in the financial industry after which he took on tackling climate challenges on a European scale. This experience will be valuable when looking at the urban context.
Sander studied in Amsterdam before and his experience there with the wide variety of people living and working in the city inspires him. He believes such a diverse group of people is able to come up with the best solutions to the challenges we face with Urban Mobility.
“Let's make sure that our projects result in impact, not just reports!”
