AMS Institute moved to the Kattenburgerstraat on the Marineterrein in 2018. As a freelance projectmanager, Yvette was involved to organize and coordinate the relocation and the necessary facilities related activities. Since the initial relocation and implementation of a number of facility services contracts, Yvette is still affiliated with AMS Institute. Together with the team she helps to ensure that the AMS working environment meets the needs of its users.
As the demand for space increases due to growth and more (research) projects have to be facilitated, the team is continuously adapting the layout, facilities and services. Due to this growth, it is important to tackle issues in an integrated manner. Both financially based on the total costs of ownership, and organizationally through coordination with departments such as Finance, IT and HR.
Besides AMS Institute, Yvette works for other organizations in the public and private domain. In the past she worked for TU Delft and Erasmus University. Also she was involved in a number of PPP DBFMO utility projects. Through private consortia, she developed facility services in a team for organizations such as RIVM and the Tax and Customs Administration.
Facility Management processes have impact on important themes within AMS Institute such as sustainability, circularity and energy. It is a challenge to develop housing for AMS Institute that contributes to its ambition to create sustainable metropolitan solutions. The future development of the Marineterrein offers that opportunity.
“Relocating is more than just packing boxes. It affects all facets of housing and facilities.”
