Els Leclercq

ELs Leclercq started as a research fellow working on the subject of Circular Economy, partly for AMS and partly for the TUDelft. Within the AMS circularity program she will be looking at governance structures in particular in relation to the development of HavenStad in Amsterdam.

Bio
Els Leclercq has a background in urbanism and has experience in both designing and researching complex urban issues. She just defended her PhD thesis with the title ‘Privatisation of the production of public space’ in which the influence of private actors on the production of public spaces is analysed from the governance, users and designer perspectives. In addition to academic research, she also works as an urban designer on a variety of projects within her own design company, StudioAitken, based in both London and Rotterdam.
