Weronika holds a Master's Degree in Architecture and Urban Planning from ENSA Paris Belleville and a Master's in City and Technology from the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia. Her particular interest lies in the intersection of economics, sociology, technology and urban planning.
At the Amsterdam Institute for Advanced Metropolitan Solutions, she places her research in a real-life context by engaging in multidisciplinary projects such as Clean Inner City.

Currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree at Urban Economics group, Wageningen University, she is focusing on digital simulation methods (such as Agent-Based Modelling and Digital Twins) to improve the plastic waste management system in NWO-founded project called MUNITION. She combines urban simulations, spatial data science and other digital and parametric tools with architectural knowledge and sensibility to conceive more adapted solutions and strategic designs for our environments and social sustainability.

Her goal always strive for a holistic approach to tackle problems of the contemporary urban environment and ensure a transition towards a more just and resilient future.

Amsterdam is one of the examples of cities that allow researchers to experiment, and test their ideas in real life. Bridging the academia and industry facilitates fluent implementation which is a key factor in bringing innovation to our practice and here we can make it happen.

“We are all just little agents in a world full of uncertainties. Sometimes it is hard to see but we all have tools to build a safe and beautiful future. The biggest one is empathy and that's where the true change emerges.”
