What is MSc MADE?
At the Marineterrein, a breeding ground for innovation, the MSc MADE program engages students with sustainability, environmental and social challenges in a fast-urbanizing world, taking Amsterdam as a case study. The students are provided with engineering and entrepreneurial skills; vital for a city as Amsterdam. Over the course of two intensive years, students transform into urban innovators with a mindset that values creativity and collaboration, poised to address the complex challenges confronting our cities. As these years swiftly passed, the students completed their studies, earning their diplomas and proudly graduating with a joint degree from TU Delft and Wageningen University & Research.
Now officially MSc MADE alumni, they are well-equipped with the thoroughness and determination needed to make a positive impact on the world. We are exciting to witness the transformative contributions they will bring to our urban landscapes!
“I will cherish the memories of this tightknit community, whose positive and innovative spirit will continue to inspire me.”

A lot to celebrate!
During the ceremony, it was time to shine the spotlight on our students. After dedicating themselves to the first year of MADE, focusing on courses in sustainable development, innovation, and entrepreneurship, followed by a deep dive into a living lab project and their MADE thesis in the second year. As by tradition and adding to the excitement, we invited them to mark an Amsterdam location on our MSC MADE ALUMNI Map, spotlighting their most cherished memories of Amsterdam. Thereafter it was time to raise a glass to our new alumni, congratulations again, graduates!
“I remember collecting eggs on a random Thursday in October for a project on regenerative farming and thinking "I am so lucky to have found a study programme that values real-life learning experiences". Inspired by this farm project I am happy to have found my niche in sustainable food systems within the endless world of topics integrated in the MADE program.”

What is next?
The MSc MADE students are ready to embark on their next endeavours, and we are excited to see what’s this will be. Some are pausing briefly to explore new opportunities, while others are diving straight into roles as sustainability experts, landscape designers, urban planners, consultants, and more.
No matter their specific plans, one thing is certain: our urban engineers have a promising future ahead. Equipped with the creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking skills they cultivated during their time at AMS Institute, we have every confidence that they will positively influence the world around them.
