“A culture of collaboration and experimentation at AMS Institute, combined with excellent relations with the City of Amsterdam and top knowledge institutes such as Delft University of Technology, Wageningen University & Research and Massachusetts Institute of Technology".
With these words and more, our former Managing Director, Kenneth Heijns, was honored with the prestigious Andreaspenning during the 10-year celebration of Gemeente Amsterdam Innovatie on December 12, 2024.
The award was presented by the City of Amsterdam and handed over by Amélie Strens, Chair of Amsterdam’s City Center District, in recognition of Kenneth’s leadership and the significant impact of AMS Institute on urban innovation.
“This award is for everyone who, over the past 11,5 years, has contributed to finding solutions for metropolitan challenges at and with AMS Institute. It’s for everyone who worked towards urban innovation for our capital city, Amsterdam, and by extension, cities worldwide. To me, this medal is an encouragement to strive for an even greater impact on the city of tomorrow than we’ve achieved today!”
