The association promotes student interests and is dedicated to enhancing the MSc MADE student experience. It supports both professional and personal development through a wide range of events and initiatives aimed at strengthening the program and its community.
In January 2025, a new board was installed, with seven passionate students ready to shape the future of MADE IT. With diverse backgrounds in sustainability, engineering, urban planning, and design, they share a common goal: to foster a strong, connected, and inclusive community of urban changemakers. Who are they, and what drives them? Let’s hear from the new board!
The board members of 2025
Minqiu Korevaar - Chair
"As a graduate of the interdisciplinary Bachelor’s program in Future Planet Studies, I developed a strong foundation in earth and environmental sciences. Now, as a Master’s student in Metropolitan Analysis, Design, and Engineering in Amsterdam, I focus on tackling urban challenges through GIS and data-driven city planning. I am passionate about creative map-making and data visualization as tools to communicate complex problems and solutions effectively. In my role as chair, I aspire to empower the board, committees, and students and foster a collaborative and inclusive environment."
Nathalie Waelbroeck - External Relations
"As a sustainability consultant and architect, I see our society transforming toward a more sustainable and tech-driven future. We must rethink how we design cities and bring diverse people together. Having lived in the U.S., Belgium, and Argentina, I value cultural and interdisciplinary collaboration. As External Relations Chair, I’m excited to connect students with careers where their skills can shape a smarter, more sustainable world."
Antoine Lenweiter - Internal Relations
"Unlike a traditional campus, the AMS Institute unites students, researchers, and entrepreneurs. It’s a unique space for MADE students to learn, grow, and transition into professionals. My urban planning background has shown me the power of collaboration across diverse backgrounds and perspectives - something the institute and MADE students embody perfectly. Through the MADE IT association, I aim to foster connections, making it easier for everyone to collaborate and thrive in this dynamic environment."
Julia van Raamsdonk - Treasurer
"With a background in mechanical engineering, I’ve always enjoyed problem-solving, but I wanted to apply that mindset to shaping sustainable cities. As Treasurer of MADE IT, I manage finances while supporting a community where students connect and grow. I believe real change happens when diverse perspectives come together, and I’m excited to be part of a team that makes that happen."
Veerle Sanders - Secretary
”As a mechanical engineer, I enjoy solving complex problems, like sustainable city planning, where everything needs to fit together. Completing a pre-master at Wageningen University for the MSc MADE program deepened my understanding of resilient cities. Studying abroad in Denmark and Australia broadened my international perspective, while construction, manufacturing, and clean energy internships gave me hands-on experience. As secretary of the MADE IT study association and sports enthusiast, I thrive in dynamic, collaborative environments, and I am excited to help build a smarter and more sustainable future."
Alua Akhmet – Communications and Marketing officer
"As Marketing & Communications Officer, I focus on increasing the visibility of the MSc MADE program, helping prospective students and future employers understand its value. With a BSc in International Spatial Development and experience working with communications in the field, I have developed a strong eye for detail and a creative approach. I apply these skills to bridge academia and professional industries through clear and engaging communication."
Jaap Wittenberg - Committee and Project Coordinator
“I’m passionate about combining sustainability with urban design, particularly bringing nature into cities. My bachelor's in Human Geography allowed me to pursue this passion further. As a project and committee coordinator, I focus on facilitating new perspectives and fun, engaging interactions. I also mix technology with education to teach kids, helping them discover innovative solutions for the future.”
“In my role as chair, I aspire to empower the board, committees, and students and foster a collaborative and inclusive environment.”

What does the new board hope to accomplish?
The new board aims to bridge the gap between students and professional life by creating opportunities for networking, career development, and industry engagement. "We want to define perspectives for students, helping them navigate their academic journey and future careers more clearly. Additionally, we strive to increase the visibility and recognition of MSc MADE, ensuring that prospective students, alumni, and industry professionals see the value of our program and the talent it cultivates."
The importance of a strong MSc MADE community
"A strong MSc MADE community fosters collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and support among students, alumni, and industry professionals. Our community's international and interdisciplinary nature makes it unique - our students come from diverse backgrounds, bringing different perspectives and expertise. This diversity is a key strength of our program, driving innovation and creative problem-solving. By strengthening these connections, we create more opportunities for learning and career growth and raise the visibility of MSc MADE within both academic and professional spheres."
